Elizabeth Heck has a 25 year solid background in working in herbalism. She studied formally with the world’s most renowned herbalists including Rosemary Gladstar and Matthew Wood. She also trained with esteemed botanist, Dr. Robert Mohlenbrock. Her training continued in ethnobotanical traditions of Native American, Central American and upper Amazon cultures. Elizabeth has been a frequent guest speaker at many of the top herbalism conferences, teaching centers and events globally and has been teaching online since 2015. Many of her courses are top sellers and consistently receive high ratings. Other work includes several years as a naturalist and participation in numerous plant conservation projects for both private and governmental agencies. Elizabeth was the founder of an herbal products company as well as a prior board member of the Minnesota Native Plant Society.

    This membership is appropriate for the beginner with limited to no herbalism experience. Those with some herbal experience will also find a great deal of valuable information.

  • Are medicinal plants safe?

    The plants covered in this membership are all very safe for beginners to use. Any cautions are noted. Stronger plants requiring advanced skills are not taught at this level.

  • Are there scientifically published articles on the effectiveness of medicinal plants?

    Yes, PubMed from the National Institute of Health has thousands of peer reviewed articles. American Botanical Council is another excellent resource with the German E Commission Monographs.
